What is a ceramic coating?

Discount Detailing, LLC are certified installers of Shield Ceramic Coatings. Shield is made right in Raleigh, NC. We have visited the site of where these coatings are made, talked with owners, and attended an application class. We want customers to trust we have chosen a quality coating to use on their investment that is why we spent months testing these coatings before we made the switch to Shield. Shield coatings come in a 1 year, 3 year, and 5 year options. Our 3 year, and 5 year options require a 1 step or 2 step paint correction. The paint correction process will level clear coat material removing swirls, water spots, and scratches. Some clear coat is sacrificed during the correcting process resulting in a "clean" softer surface for the coating to bond to. Factory clear coat is generally 4-5mil. Paint correction will remove 0.2-0.4mil. We will then use the shield coating of your choice to add a layer of unbeatable protection back to your remaining clear coat. The coating will provide more durability and easier maintenance. This will also increase UV protection and environmental contaminant protection.
